Side Entry Agitators are designed for mixing and blending in large tanks, especially where top access is limited or vertical agitators are impractical. They are commonly used in oil, chemical, beverage, and water treatment industries where efficient circulation and suspension are essential.
At JDS MIXING, our Side Entry Agitators are engineered for performance, energy efficiency, and durability, even in the most demanding environments.
A Side Entry Agitator is mounted horizontally through the side wall of a tank, usually near the bottom. It uses a specially designed impeller to create axial flow, ensuring thorough mixing in large-diameter vessels, while minimizing power consumption and operational costs.
Side entry mixers are particularly effective for, blending miscible fluids, preventing sedimentation.
1. The agitator is installed horizontally through a nozzle or flange on the side of the tank.
2. The motor drives a shaft connected to an impeller placed inside the tank.
3. The impeller creates a strong axial flow, circulating liquid horizontally across the tank.
4. When multiple agitators are used in large tanks, they are strategically positioned to ensure complete coverage and uniform mixing.
